University of Zurich AI Lab
The Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in the University of Zurich's Department of Informatics, long directed by Rolf Pfeifer (retired 2014), studied embodied cognition and soft, bio-inspired robots. It built the crowdfunded, tendon-driven Roboy, which later continued as an independent project near Munich.
