What’s inside

The parts the company has talked about publicly.

Movement: Wheeled base
How it runs: Fully autonomous. It roamed and mowed the lawn by itself inside a boundary wire, powered by its solar panels.
Actuators & motors: Very low-power cutting system; the design reportedly cut grass with about 40 W.
Battery & power: Powered entirely by solar cells on the body (no mains charging), which Husqvarna calls unique for its time.
Other details: Nicknamed 'the turtle'. Based on an idea by Belgian inventor André Colens; Husqvarna's team began work around 1992. Succeeded in 1998 by the battery-powered Solar Hybrid, the first Automower.
