Why it matters

First passenger car in South Korea permitted to drive on public roads at normal speed with nobody in the driver's seat (June 2024).

Real-world use

Has run daily on a 3.2 km loop in Seoul's Sangam test zone with the driver's seat empty, logging over 3,300 driver-out hours by August 2026; a public robotaxi service with a safety manager in the passenger seat was planned for 2026 (Venture Square, Aug 2026).
