Why it matters
Shown at CES 2016 as the first passenger drone, a single-seat electric multicopter meant to fly a person with no pilot aboard.
Real-world use
The EHang 184 had completed over 1,000 test flights with and without passengers by February 2018 (Air University/CASI, 2018); EHang co-founder Derrick Xiong reported 30–40 aircraft built by July 2018 (Vertical Flight Society, 2018).
