Why it matters

Described by EHang as the world's first pilotless passenger eVTOL to hold a CAAC type certificate, production certificate and standard airworthiness certificate; in March 2025 CAAC issued the first air operator certificates for pilotless passenger eVTOL service.

Real-world use

Paid sightseeing flights by EHang General Aviation (Guangzhou) and Heyi Aviation (Hefei) began under air operator certificates issued in March 2025; first public flights in Hong Kong's Regulatory Sandbox took place 28-30 August 2026 (EHang).
